PLTL Student 🎒

  • Role: Taking the first steps in courses like Biology, Ecology, and more!
  • Requirements: Just be enrolled & ready to learn (Enrolled in relevant courses).
  • Responsibilities: Join sessions, ask questions, and embark on an academic adventure.

PLTL Peer Leader 👩‍🏫

  • Role: Guiding students through their course odysseys.
  • Requirements: Mastered the course, ready to lead (Successfully completed the intended course, preferably with a high grade).
  • Responsibilities: Weekly sessions, practice rounds with GD leaders, and pedagogical prowess.

Supervisor 🧭

  • Role: The mentors of our mentors.
  • Requirements: Been there, done that – twice! (At least 2 semesters as a PLTL Peer Leader).
  • Responsibilities: Overseeing Peer Leaders, addressing concerns, and being the backbone of our sessions.

PLTL GD (Group Discussion) Leader 📚

  • Role: Sharpening the skills of our Peer Leaders.
  • Requirements: Multiple semesters in, with leadership badges to show (At least 3 semesters in the program, minimum of 1 semester as a Supervisor).
  • Responsibilities: Prepping Peer Leaders, ensuring knowledge prowess, and bridging questions with answers.

Note: Disregard the Supervisor requirement for Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024 due to the temporary absence of this position


PLTL GD (Group Discussion) Chair 🪑

  • Role: The maestro orchestrating the GD symphony.
  • Requirements: A virtuoso in the PLTL program (Extensive experience, multiple semesters as a GD Leader).
  • Responsibilities: Mentorship, ensuring session readiness, and upholding the gold standard of GDs.

PLTL Volunteers 💪

  • Role: The unsung heroes behind the scenes.
  • Requirements: Passion for PLTL and a helping hand (Familiarity with the PLTL program).
  • Responsibilities: Whatever the program needs – from content creation to mentorship.

PLTL FWSs (Federal Work-Study Students) 💼

  • Role: Diverse talents, one goal – success!
  • Requirements: Federal work-study eligibility and a zest for PLTL (Eligibility for federal work-study).
  • Responsibilities: Admin tasks, content magic, or even session aid.

Program Assistant 🖊️

  • Role: The gears keeping the PLTL machine smooth.
  • Requirements: Graduate student insights and PLTL familiarity (Graduate student status, familiarity with PLTL).
  • Responsibilities: Content development, admin magic, and session support.

Program Coordinator 🌐

  • Role: The captain steering the PLTL ship.
  • Requirements: Leadership experience and a vision for PLTL’s future (Minimum of 5 semesters in PLTL with leadership roles, including at least 2 as a GD Leader).
  • Responsibilities: Weekly meets, overseeing the big picture, and ensuring PLTL sails smoothly.
